Locations spanned from from Santa Monica, West Los Angeles to West Hollywood and Hollywood, LA, and collaborators included Puppet School; Heather Henson\u2019s Handmade Puppet Dreams; LA Guild of Puppetry; Little Stage Puppet Theater; Bob Baker Marionette Theater; Rogue Artists; Sock Puppet Theater; Beth Peterson; Leslie K. Gray; Gina Pavlova; Skirball Cultural Center; and more<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lapuppetfest.com\/\">lapuppetfest.com<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>San Jose, CA \u2013 April 13, 2014 &#8211; San Francisco Bay Area Puppet Guild<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Moving to Northern California, The SFBAPG orchestrated a great combined event with the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo in San Jose.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfbapg.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">sfbapg.org<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nGreenwich Village, NY \u2013 April 19, 2014 &#8211; Puppetry Guild of Greater New York<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Flying across the country, PGOGNY offered \u201ca gift for children of all ages,\u201d continuing a tradition of offering FREE short puppet shows to members of the public. This year the event was held in the Community Room at Westbeth, Home to the Arts.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pgogny.org\/\">pgogny.org<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nOrem, Utah \u2013 April 19, 2014 &#8211; Puppetry Arts Guild of Utah<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Workshops were the highlight of Utah\u2019s annual Puppetry Workshop held at the SCERA Center, 745 South State, Orem, UT. The event featured performances, puppet-making, movies, and more<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/puppet.org\/nationaldayofpuppetry.shtml\">puppet.org\/nationaldayofpuppetry.shtml<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nAustin, Texas \u2013 April 26, 2014 &#8211; Austin Public Library<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Hats off to the Austin Public Library system! On April 26<sup>th<\/sup>, The public could stop by at any of 10 branches to make puppet-themed crafts.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/library.austintexas.gov\/event\/celebrate-national-day-puppetry-58384\">library.austintexas.gov\/event\/celebrate-national-day-puppetry-58384<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nBoston, Massachusetts \u2013 April 26, 2014 \u2013Puppet Showplace Theatre<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Puppet Showplace took advantage of Brookline Open Studios to exhibit work made by puppeteers from across the greater Boston area.\u00a0 In addition to performances and puppet making, PST also organized arts advocacy activities, including a children\u2019s letter-writing campaign to Governor Deval Patrick (who also \u00a0proclaimed April 26th, 2014 to be the \u201cMassachusetts Day of Puppetry\u201d).<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/puppetshowplace.org\/index.php?page=day-of-puppetry\">puppetshowplace.org\/index.php?page=day-of-puppetry<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nLong Beach, California \u2013 April 26, 2014 &#8211; Orange County Puppetry Guild<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This collaboration with the El Dorado Nature Center featured the guild\u2019s \u201c\u2019world famous\u2019 (well, county famous) fluttering butterfly paper puppets.\u201d<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/theOCPG\" target=\"_blank\">facebook.com\/theOCPG<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nPhoenix, Arizona \u2013 April 26, 2014 &#8211; The Phoenix Guild of Puppetry<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Phoenix Guild of Puppetry and Great Arizona Puppet Theater collaborated to hold puppet shows every hour throughout the day. Featured activities were a puppet-making workshop and performances by Salt &#8216;n&#8217; Patter Puppets and Blacque Berry Puppets.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.slcl.org\/content\/puppet-guild-national-day-puppetry\">slcl.org\/content\/puppet-guild-national-day-puppetry<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PuppetGuildStL\/photos\/gm.514140395366296\/646608542061955\/?type=1&amp;theater\">facebook.com\/PuppetGuildStL\/photos\/gm.514140395366296\/646608542061955\/?type=1&amp;theater<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/puppetguild.org\/\">puppetguild.org<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nBoston, MA \u2013 April 27, 2014 \u2013 The Boston Area Guild of Puppetry<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">BAGOP organized a \u201cPuppets on Film\u201d Festival at the Creative Arts Cultural Center in Reading, MA, followed by a potluck and party!<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bagop.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">bagop.org<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nAshville, North Carolina \u2013 May 3, 2014 -Ashville Puppetry Alliance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The 16th Annual National Day of Puppetry took place on the Reuter Terrace at Pack Place in Downtown Asheville. \u00a0Activities included a puppet parade, performances, and puppet-themed games and building activities.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ashvillepuppetry.org\" target=\"_blank\">ashvillepuppetry.org<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nTampa Florida \u2013 May 3, 2014 \u2013 Florida Suncoast Puppet Guild<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This guild collaborated wit the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System to produce a fun day of puppetry events.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/suncoastpuppetguild\/\" target=\"_blank\">facebook.com\/groups\/suncoastpuppetguild<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nConnecticut<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>May 4, 2014 &#8211; <\/strong><strong>Connecticut Guild of Puppetry<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This guild was the only one we found who hosted a \u201cSecret Project Building Day.\u201d Guild members brought tools to Cheshire, CT to build something that would help with puppetry outreach AND potentially raise money for 2015 National Festival Scholarships.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ctpuppetry.org\/#welcome\">ctpuppetry.org\/#welcome<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><br \/>\nDetroit, Michigan \u2013 May 17, 2014 &#8211; Detroit Puppeteers Guild<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Detroit Guild presented performances at the Sandburg Library. We\u2019re not sure if, technically speaking, this was a National Day of Puppetry Event, but the Detroit Guild has performed mightily on this day for many years!<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.detroitpuppeteersguild.org\/DayofPuppetry.html\">detroitpuppeteersguild.org\/DayofPuppetry.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Don\u2019t see your event listed?
