Making a Mascot

May 20, 2012 By Puppeteers of America

“Where do mascots come from? Surprisingly, many are “born” right here in Charlotte. In an old industrial building in Charlotte’s South End, Grey Seal Puppets has been creating fantasy characters for over 30 years.

Along with puppets, Grey Seal has created high-profile mascot characters for the Cartoon Network, New Orleans Hornets, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and Charlotte Bobcats.

Go behind the scenes and watch Grey Seal create their newest mascot, the “Carolina Dog” for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.
